Always split 2's or 3's against a 4, 5, or 6.

Always split Aces and 8's, no matter what the dealer's up card is.

Never split face cards, 10's, or 5's.

If allowed, surrender hard 15 against a dealer's 10, and 16 (but not a pair of 8's) against a dealer's 9, 10 or Ace.
