Default How often do you NL cash game players get stacked ?

A friend of mine thought I should switch to NL cash games so as to avoid certain kinds of post flop craziness that occurs in FL microstakes. How often do you guys lose your entire buy-in ? I mean, for as rough of a time as I am having with my post flop play, I sticck with fixed limit because I know I cannot go bust in a single hand. In reality, how likely/often does that happen to you ?

It all depends a little on how u play your hands.
I dont loose my buy-in lost of time, but sometimes my premium hands run into a made set on the flop. And than it can get expensive.

But, on the other side, you can also double up easier in NL games. And that's why i prefer them!

pretty regularly until the last couple of days. i'm starting to make it back up though.

you're going to get stacked. no matter how well you play, you are going to run into a hand you can't get away from that has you beat once in a while.

if you don't get stacked, you are probably playing too tightly and not doubling up either.

It happens to everyone and you can get a really bad run.So bankroll management advice posts say you should have about 20 Buy-ns to play at the particular stakes you are playing. You don,t want to play SCARED or stick to limit holdem.

he best players win in cash games 2 out of 3 times, As said by many pros. As far a busting that is more up to you. If you refuse to be all-in then I guess you never will bust. But then again you will never make much once people pick up on that. I play prob. 5-6 times a week now, just small stakes still trying to get back in my grove. Anyways, I did bust on one table... UGGG. But left up 30% one one and 220% from the other. So even though I busted on one table I got it all back and then some from the others.

As has been said before sometimes you just can't help going bust

I would recommend you play at a limit where you can buy in with the max and it not hurt you if you do get stacked

Playing with "scared" money is not good

Getting stacked on NLHE cash game tables is just part of the game. It's not like you're playing tournament poker where you're trying to conserve/preserve your stack. You should be topping up your stack anytime you fall below the max in my opinion and should also be looking to try to get as many of your opponent's chips into the middle as you can on big hands. Losing a buyin (or two or three) is just part of it. Alot of regs

It also depends upon how I lose it.... and if I'm 'losing it' after losing it. If I'm still playing my A-game I will keep on playing after losing a few buyins. As usual.. 'it depends'.

I find in the micro limits you'll often see a noob who is way too aggressive and gets lucky a few times and builds up to more than double their stack. I like those players, lol... there the same ones who will stay until they've donked it all back off again.
